I had a wonderful opportunity to write a video script for my class this term. I was able to choose a brand, concept a video idea, and write a video script. Writing the script has taught me so much in understanding how to be creative and organized. I was able to tap into that creative side of me and come up with a motivational video for Nike. Obviously, it isn’t for the actual brand but what I would concept for them. My focus was to do something different. I want to focus in on the everyday athlete and target Millennials and Generation Z. Doing this, I am steering away from traditional advertising and focusing on the everyday people who train, work, and are busy with life. The goal is to generate engagement and loyal customers. The video concept is close to influencer marketing with your everyday athlete who is busy with life, but keeps showing up anyway. Because isn’t that what we all do?
In writing the script, I learned organization within the creativity. Mapping out what was going to be said, as well as the visuals, and what the audience is going to hear. This is so important in keeping your audiences attention as well as staying aesthetically pleasing, especially to this audience. I am grateful for this opportunity and am looking forward to bringing this concept and video to life.
