How does music affect your life?

Blog

Have you ever sat down and wondered what life would be like without music? It would be pretty boring and silent. Music is played on the radio, in movies, in cars, in stores, in advertisements, on social media, and so on. Music is not only played to suppress our boredom. It is a form of emotional connection, whether that is writing music, singing, dancing, going to concerts, and driving to a song that you connect with. In my life, music has affected me greatly.

I grew up a competitive dancer, which allowed me to learn to express my feelings, build friendships, build connections with people, share stories, cope with daily life, therapy, and truly connect to music in a special way. Music for me is a way of expression. People write music that others can relate to, people sing and have concerts to connect with their audience, others dance competitively, or in the kitchen, people run to music, let emotions out to music, and ultimately feel with music.

There is an emotional connection to music, and everyone has felt that. Has a song ever come on that you forgot about, and you are immediately taken back to that time in your life? Whether that was when you were a kid listening to music with your friends, a dance you learned, a memory from high school, your heart broken, a really happy time, I think you get the point. Music ties us to so many different things. It ties us to memories, reminds us of good and bad times, and helps us connect to others in so many different ways.

What is a specific memory that is tied to that song? Leave a comment below.
