My favorite project this semester was creating the video campaign for Nike. I really enjoyed the creative process behind it, especially bringing the creative brief to life. It made the project feel real and professional, like something I could actually pitch in a workplace setting. Mapping out the target audience, campaign goals, messaging, and overall tone helped me think more strategically instead of just jumping straight into creating content.
I also loved developing the social media teaser posts leading up to the campaign video. That part felt especially relevant to what I want to do in my career. Figuring out how to build anticipation, stay on-brand, and connect with the audience in a short-form format was both challenging and exciting. It showed me how important consistency and storytelling are across different platforms. It shows me that marketing is truly my passion and what I want to pursue.
This project definitely influenced my career plans. It confirmed that I’m drawn to campaign strategy, branding, and social media marketing. I love to talk about it with others and be organized as a professional. I specifically want to pursue a marketing career more on the communication and coordinating side of things. I realized I don’t just enjoy creating content. I enjoy planning and coordinating the bigger picture behind it. Overall, the Nike campaign felt like a glimpse into the type of work I hope to do in the future.
